1. Introduction
Clovelle (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal data when you use the Clovelle mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By using Clovelle, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service immediately.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign up via Google, we receive your Google account email and profile name.
2.2 Wardrobe Data
The core of our Service is wardrobe management. We collect and store photographs of your clothing items and the associated metadata you provide or that our AI generates (category, color, brand, size, season, occasion tags, etc.).
2.3 Usage Data
We collect data about how you interact with the app: features used, outfits created, plans made, wear logs, style preferences, and app navigation patterns. This helps us improve the Service and provide personalized suggestions.
2.4 Device Information
We collect device model, operating system version, app version, and anonymous device identifiers for diagnostics, crash reporting, and analytics purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Clovelle Service.
- To generate AI-powered outfit suggestions and wardrobe insights tailored to you.
- To process your subscription and manage your account.
- To send important account notifications, updates, and (with consent) marketing communications.
- To analyze usage patterns and improve app performance and design.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Appwrite cloud infrastructure. Clothing images are stored in encrypted cloud storage. All data transmission between the app and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS/SSL.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. AI and Machine Learning
Clovelle uses AI models to analyze your clothing items and generate outfit suggestions. By default, AI processing happens on the server side through secure Appwrite Functions. Your clothing images are processed to remove backgrounds (on-device via ONNX runtime when available) and to extract item attributes.
AI personalization can be toggled off in Settings > Privacy. When off, Clovelle will not use your wardrobe data to train or personalize AI models beyond basic item tagging.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information in these limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use Appwrite for backend services and RevenueCat for subscription management. These providers process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.
- Analytics:We use anonymized analytics to understand app usage patterns. You can opt out of analytics in Settings > Privacy.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access:Export your complete wardrobe data (profile, items, outfits, wear logs) in JSON format from Profile > Export Data.
- Rectify: Edit or update your profile and item information at any time within the app.
- Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting support@closetly.app. We will process your request within 30 days.
- Opt-out:Disable AI personalization and analytics in Settings > Privacy at any time.
- Withdraw Consent: You may delete your account, which will remove all data and withdraw any previously given consent.
8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we will permanently delete all personal data, wardrobe items, outfits, plans, and associated metadata within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
9. Children's Privacy
Clovelle is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information immediately.
10. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
